TEHRAN, July 11 (KUNA) -- Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said will be visiting
Iran in the near future, on what would be the first trip of its kind in 30
years, said Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi on
Saturday.
Speaking at a press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr
Motaki, the Omani official said the two sides discussed necessary preparations
ahead of Sultan Qaboos's visit to Tehran.
Sultan Qaboos is expected to discuss the bilateral relations and the
regional issues with the Iranian leadership.
The Omani leader was supposed to visit Iran last June, but he postponed the
visit until further notice.
Iranian-Omani bilateral relations are strong and good, bin Alawi said,
affirming that both countries seek to develop their bilateral ties at all
levels and to boost security in the region.
Both countries seek to develop the cooperation and business relations and
investments, Motaki said, pointing out the good political relations between
Oman and Iran. (end)
