Germany vows to work with new Iraqi interim government
BERLIN, June 2 (KUNA) -- German officials on Wednesday welcomed creation of
an Iraqi interim government and said they would work closely with the new
leaders in Baghdad.
"The German government welcomes creation of the Iraqi transitional
government," said German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder's chief spokesman, Bela
Anda, saying, "It is an important step."
Anda pledged Berlin was ready to work closely with the Iraqi government but
underlined that Germany would not send troops or police to Iraq. (end)
