ABU DHABI, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan
Sunday issued an Amiri Decree appointing Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
as Deputy Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and authorizing him to assume the position
of Crown Prince once the position falls vacant, reported the Emirates News
Agency.
The decree states that Sheikh Zayed has issued the decree after reviewing
Law No.1 of 1974 on the re-organization of government bodies of the Emirate of
Abu Dhabi and its amendments and after perusal of Amiri decree No. 15 of 1976
regarding the formation of the Crown Prince's Court and the Chairman of the

Article one of the decree appoints Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as
Deputy Crown Prince and authorizes him to assume the position of Crown Prince
once the position becomes vacant. Article two of the decree revokes all
provisions that are contrary to the new decree. The decree will be effective
from date of issue and publication in the official gazette.
The 43-years-old Sheikh Mohammed had completed his primary studies in the
UAE, and then went to Morocco for his intermediate and secondary school
studies. After that, he got his military certificate from British Saint Hurts
Academy.
Sheikh Mohammed was promoted in military positions until being appointed
