ISNA director appears in public court
TEHRAN, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- Managing Director of Iranian Students News Agency
(ISNA) Abolfazl Fateh appeared in Tehran's Public Court on Saturday to answer
several charges against him.
Fateh told Iranian News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday that he had presented
himself to the court per a written warrant asking him to appear in Bench 1410
of Tehran Public Court within three days.
He said that he had defended ISNA against a number of charges filed against
it, including the news and photos the agency had transmitted concerning
opinion poll institutions, the death sentence issued against academic and
writer Hashem Aghajari, and condition of certain prisoners and detainees.
He added that he had the provided court with evidence that ISNA was
impartial and acted within the limits of the Constitution.
He concluded that he would go to court, if necessary, to provide the
presiding judge Saeed Mortazavi with necessary explanations. (end)
