KUWAIT, Dec 23 (KUNA) -- The Touristic Enterprises Company (TEC) announced on Tuesday the launch pf the Al-Aqila Beach redevelopment project as part of efforts to enhance waterfronts and boost the tourism and entertainment sector in Kuwait.
Speaking at a press conference, Chief Executive Officer of the TEC Anwar Al-Hlailah said the project, developed in cooperation with Aayan Real Estate Company, supports quality of life and strengthens Kuwait's position as a regional tourism and leisure destination.
He added that the initiative falls within TEC's strategy to develop coastal destinations through sustainable projects with economic and social value in partnership with the private sector.
Aayan Real Estate CEO Ibrahim Al-Awadhi said the project aims to revive Kuwaiti beaches and transform them into vibrant and sustainable destinations combining entertainment, marine, cultural, and sports activities.
The project spans approximately 60,000 square meters and features a modern design inspired by Kuwait's coastal heritage. It includes an indoor children's entertainment hall, outdoor and water play areas, a fully equipped health club with sea views, 27 restaurants and cafes, drive-through service units, and a multi-purpose hall for major events. Open spaces and a seaside promenade will also be developed to enhance the visitor experience.
TEC is a state-owned company responsible for developing and managing tourism and entertainment facilities in Kuwait in cooperation with government bodies, the private sector, and international partners. (end) ayb.dss
