BAGHDAD, Dec 9 (KUNA) -- Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information Dr. Nasser Muhaisen said that Kuwait is committed to actively contributing to the development of Arab tourism policies and strengthening joint initiatives, thereby supporting sustainable development efforts and solidifying the presence of Arab countries on the regional and international tourism map.
Representing Kuwait on behalf of Minister of Information and Culture and State Minister for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Muhaisen made the statement to KUNA during his participation in the 28th Ordinary Session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism, held in Baghdad, Iraq.
Muhaisen explained that the current session discussed several key topics, most notably innovation and digital transformation towards smart tourism, updating joint Arab strategies for the sector, and supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of tourism experiences in Arab countries.
The meetings also addressed ways to develop a shared regional tourism product encompassing a range of integrated Arab tourism assets that would contribute to boosting intra-Arab tourism and support integration and cooperation efforts in this sector.
He added that the Council's decisions would enhance cooperation among member states, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and develop joint programs, emphasizing Kuwait's commitment to supporting these efforts and participating in the implementation of future initiatives.
Muhaisen concluded by affirming that Kuwait would continue to support the joint Arab action system in developing the tourism sector and actively contribute to the implementation of the Council's adopted decisions and initiatives, thereby strengthening Arab tourism and fulfilling member states' aspirations for a more competitive and sustainable sector.
