CAIRO, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- The Arab charter on human rights committee is due to discuss on Wednesday a routine report submitted by Kuwait as part of efforts to gauge the level of commitment on the part of member states, it said.
The Kuwaiti report, which will be among the topics of discussion amid the pan-Arab committee's 28th session, delves into some of the measures Kuwait has introduced to protect human rights on a national level, taking into account some of the suggestions the committee had pitched on the matter, it said in a statement.
The talks will also examine the progress Kuwait has made on a slew of matters pertinent to human rights, which range from the fight against human trafficking to freedom of expression and women's rights, added the statement.
The committee members are due to hold "compelling discussions" with the Kuwaiti delegation over the matter as part of its mission to "inspect" the level of commitment to the Arab charter on human rights, it underlined. (end)
