Kuwait's Ambassador in Brussels Affirms Importance of Hosting ICI Meeting

   BRUSSELS, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Belgium and Head of its Missions to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Nawaf Al-Enezi, affirmed on Tuesday the importance of Kuwait hosting the seventh meeting of the Political Advisory Group of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) and NATO at the Alliance's Regional Center during the period of 8-9 December 2025 in Kuwait.
   Ambassador Al-Enezi told KUNA that Deputy Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and NATO Secretary-General's Special Representative for the Southern Neighbourhood, Javier Colomina, will participate in the opening session of the seventh meeting of the Political Advisory Group.
   The session will be held with the participation of representatives of NATO member states and representatives of the ICI states, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait, in addition to the participation of Saudi Arabia, Oman, the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the European Union (EU), and experts from several think tanks.
   During the meeting, round-table discussions will be held to address the challenges faced by partner countries and allies in various fields, as well as ways to strengthen the partnership through practical cooperation and capacity-building in areas such as maritime security, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and combating terrorism and extremism, as well as countering the proliferation of chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons.
   It is worth noting that Kuwait hosted the second and fourth sessions of the meetings of the Political Advisory Group of the ICI and NATO in 2015 and 2018
   Kuwait has hosted NATO's Regional Centre since 2017, and it joined the ICI in 2004. (end)
