NEW DELHI, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- India and France inked a technical agreement on Thursday to deepen collaboration in defence research and development.
Indian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) of France signed the agreement to leverage the combined expertise and resources of both nations to develop innovative solutions for future defence challenges. "It provides a formal framework for joint research and training programs, testing activities, exchange of information, organisation of workshops, seminars etc. to enhance the skill and knowledge in defence research and development," the statement said.
Both countries are entitled under the agreement to transfer equipment, know-how and technologies in key areas of aeronautical platforms, unmanned vehicles, advanced materials for defence applications, cyber security, AI, space, navigation, advanced propulsion, advanced sensors, quantum technologies, underwater technologies and other areas of mutual interest. Officials from India and France said that this cooperation will significantly contribute to national security and global defence technology advancements. (end) atk.rk
