Round of 32 of FIFA U-17 World Cup kicks off in Doha
DOHA, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- The round of 32 matches of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, hosted by the Qatari capital Doha, opened on Friday, and will continue until November 27.
The national teams of Mali, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Ireland, Morocco, and Brazil qualified after defeating Zambia, Belgium, Egypt, Colombia, Argentina, Canada, the United States, and Paraguay, respectively.
The participating teams are scheduled to play 104 games over 25 days at eight stadiums within the Aspire Academy.
The final match will be held at Khalifa International Stadium, and the tournament will conclude on November 27.
The teams were divided into 12 groups of four, competing in a first round.
The top two teams from the 12 groups, along with the eight best third-placed teams (a total of 32 teams), advanced to the second round. (end)
