Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society visit WFP warehouses in Jordan
AMMAN, Nov 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society announced Monday the delivery of one million US dollars in urgent humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza in cooperation with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), as part of joint efforts to ease the worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory.
Jassem Al-Nouri, the charity's adviser, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the aid comes in response to the dire living, health, and food conditions faced by Gaza residents.
He affirmed Kuwait's longstanding commitment to assisting those in need worldwide, adding that the charity's team had visited WFP warehouses in Jordan to follow up on the preparation of shipments and ensure compliance with international humanitarian standards before dispatching them to Gaza.
Al-Nouri said the aid package includes infant formula, nutritional supplements, and ready-to-eat meals targeting vulnerable groups, mainly infants and nursing mothers.
For his part, the charity's media and resources director Abdulatif Al-Dawwas said the assistance offered on behalf of the Kuwaiti people, reflects Kuwait's enduring spirit of solidarity and compassion.
He praised cooperation with WFP, emphasizing that partnerships with trusted UN institutions ensure aid transparency and highlight Kuwait's distinguished humanitarian role globally. (end)
