Spain, Oman sign mutual visa waiver agreement

MADRID, Nov 5 (KUNA) -- Spain and Oman on Wednesday agreed to waive visa requirements for each other's nationals to facilitate easier travel, in addition to six other memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to boost bilateral cooperation.
Embarking on a three-day state visit to Spain, Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said held talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and other top state officials, yielding a visa waiver agreement and a raft of other deals running the gamut from clean energy and transportation to water resource management and investment.
The visiting Omani Sultan's talks with the Spanish prime minister also looked into current developments around the world and efforts to propel bilateral relations to greater levels, in addition to matters of mutual concern.
The Omani Sultan arrived in Spain on Monday for his first state visit to Madrid, being welcomed by Spain's King Felipe amid a lavish ceremony at the Royal Palace. (end) hnd.nam
