Higher Education Minister: strategies revamped to serve Kuwait vision

KUWAIT, Oct 29 (KUNA) -- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Nader Al-Jalal said on Wednesday the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance (NBAQ) is seeking to update policies and strategies as a contribution to attaining Neo Kuwait 2035 Vision.
These schemes aim at promoting the educational system to ensuring sustainability and investment in the human resources, said the minister after chairing an NBAQ's session, attended by the apparatus acting director general, Dr. Jassem Al-Ali, and board members, held at the ministry's headquarters.
For his part, Dr. Al-Ali said the discussions dealt with adopting criteria for selecting higher education institutions and distinguished programs in Australia and New Zealand, examined according to international classifications and standards, as part of the approach to ensure compatibility of graduates' specializations with the labor market needs.
Dr. Al-Ali expressed appreciation to the minister for his support and guidance to ensure quality at the teaching institutions, indicating that the apparatus has pursued cooperation with the higher education institutions or sake of harmony of the academic programs.
He, along with the fellow conferees, during the meeting, examined a new mechanism for canceling some academic programs as a result of coordination with the cultural attaches in the United States of America (Washington and Los Angeles) as well as the United Kingdom, for conformity with the international criteria.
