RABAT, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- Ghanaian ministers of defense and environment have died in a military helicopter crash on Tuesday evening a few hours after the armed forced announced connection with a helicopter carrying eight people was lost, Ghana's presidency announced on Wednesday.
Speaking in a press conference, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah said Defense Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment, Science and Technology Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed had been killed in the crash in the central Ashanti region, along some civilians and the crew.
Terming the accident as a "national tragedy", Debrah said the President and government offer their sympathy to the families of victims and the servicemen, announcing the country's flags to fly at half-mast. (end)
