KUWAIT, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood and Chairperson of the National Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila affirmed that the second meeting of the National Committee reviewed several important topics concerning the implementation of the international convention.
In a press statement on Wednesday, Al-Huwaila said the committee began its meeting with a visual presentation highlighting the significance of early intervention in developmental disabilities, in addition to discussing proposals related to establishing specialized nurseries tailored to the specific needs of persons with disabilities, aiming at enhancing their quality of life and facilitating their integration into society.
She added that the meeting also reviewed reports submitted by committee members regarding progress achieved in implementing the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, as well as discussed current updates, key challenges, and ways to address them in the upcoming period.
Al-Huwaila emphasized the committee's commitment to continuing efforts aimed at enhancing national policies and programs to ensure persons with disabilities receive the best possible services, reflecting Kuwait's full commitment to the Disability Rights Convention and supporting the country's leading humanitarian efforts in this field.
