BEIRUT, July 25 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced on Friday that one person was killed in an airstrike launched by the Israeli occupation forces in southern Lebanon.
According to a statement from the ministry's Public Health Emergency Operations Center (PHEOC), the airstrike targeted a vehicle in the town of Baraashit, located in the Bint Jbeil district.
Lebanon's National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone carried out the strike in two successive attacks, hitting the vehicle on the outskirts of Baraashit.
In a separate incident, the PHEOC reported that one person was injured by gunfire from Israeli occupation forces in the border town of Al-Dhahirah.
The Israeli occupation forces have recently intensified their attacks on Lebanese towns, despite the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on November 27 and the subsequent Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory-excluding several points along the southern border. (end)
