Jakarta condemns occupation's killing of Gaza's Indonesian Hospital Director

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (KUNA) -- Indonesia condemned on Thursday the assassination of Dr. Marwan Sultan, director of the Indonesian Hospital in the Gaza Strip, and his family members in an Israeli occupation airstrike yesterday, stressing that targeting them constitutes a flagrant violation of basic humanitarian principles.
In a statement, the Indonesian foreign ministry expressed its deepest condolences and strong condemnation of the martyrdom of Dr. Sultan, affirming its great appreciation for his humanitarian services and commitment to the Palestinian cause.
The statement also added that the ministry is closely monitoring developments at the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli aggression, stressing the need for an immediate end to the atrocities and an urgent ceasefire in the Strip.
The Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, has been subjected to multiple attacks since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023, the most recent of which occurred last May, when it sustained significant structural damage, leading to the suspension of many of its vital services to the local population.
