IFRC praises Kuwait's role in crisis management, aiding distressed people

KUWAIT, July 2 (KUNA) -- Deputy Regional Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Christian Cortez on Wednesday praised Kuwait Red Crescent Society's (KRCS) role in crisis management, aiding people in the Gaza Strip and countries effected by wars and natural disasters.
This came in a statement for KUNA after his visit to KRCS's headquarters and meeting with the Chairman Ambassador Khaled Al-Maghames.
Cortez stressed the importance of enhancing joint cooperation between the two sides in the humanitarian and relief fields, discussing developments in humanitarian work in the region, and training volunteers and employees in the association.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Maghames affirmed KRCS's keenness to continue coordinating and cooperating with IFRC to enhance the effectiveness of urgent humanitarian response and meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups around the world.
He added that KRCS works to strengthen purposeful and constructive partnerships with the international community and its organizations to face humanitarian challenges and crises, believing in the importance of joint action.
