RIYADH, June 22 (KUNA) -- The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday expressed deep concern over the targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities by the United States.
In a press release, the OIC said that the US strikes are a dangerous escalation that could lead to heightened tensions and threaten regional security, peace, and stability.
The Islamic bloc recalled its 13 June 2025 statement, condemning the violation of Iran's sovereignty as well as international laws and conventions, while calling for de-escalation and self-restraint, resorting to dialogue and returning to negotiations and peaceful means.
Iran's capital, Tehran and other cities have been under airstrikes by Israeli occupation warplanes since June 13, prompting Iran's strong response by firing missiles on Israeli occupation sites.
US President Donald Trump announced early Sunday that American forces had struck three nuclear sites in Iran, calling the operation "a spectacular military success" and warning that more attacks would be ordered if Tehran did not agree to a deal. (end)
