Damascus: Terrorist attack kills 13, injures 53 in St. Elias Church

AMMAN, June 22 (KUNA) -- The Syrian Interior Ministry reported on Sunday that a "terrorist" attack targeted St. Elias Church in the Duwaila area of Damascus.
According to the official Syrian News Agency (SANA), the ministry said in a post on X platform, "a suicide bomber affiliated with the ISIS entered St. Elias Church in the Duwaila neighborhood of the capital, Damascus, opened fire, and then detonated himself with an explosive vest." Syrian Information Minister Hamza Mustafa strongly condemned the attack, stating that this cowardly act contradicts "the values of citizenship that unite us all as Syrians."
