Egyptian, Bahraini leaders discuss Mideast conflict

CAIRO, June 21 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdulfatah Al-Sisi and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa agreed that the ongoing conflict between the Israeli occupation and Iran is directly associated with the persistent Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.
In a phone conversation on Saturday, they expressed profound concern over the spiraling conflict between the Israeli occupation and Iran, Spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency Mohammad Al-Shinnawi said in a press release.
The two leaders warned against the dire consequences of the possible spread of the conflict on the entire region.
They urged both parties to work responsibility for resolving the current crisis through negotiation and peaceful means, highlighting the need of the international community shouldering its responsibility in this regard.
On the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, the two leaders urging immediate delivery of life-saving assistance to the residents there.
Reiterating the call for establishing an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967, borders with Jerusalem as its capital, they said this is the sole guarantee for regional stability.
They also discussed the deep-rooted relations between Egypt and Bahrain, explored ways for enhancing cooperation in all fields, the spokesman added. (end) aff.gb
