Iraqi min. calls for emergency Arab FMs meeting

BAGHDAD, June 18 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein called on Wednesday for an emergency meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers to discuss regional developments and the ongoing Israeli occupation-Iran war.
This came during a phone discussion with his Egyptian counterpart Bader Abdulaty, in which they addressed the latest regional developments, particularly shifts in the Israel-Iran war and its impact on regional security and stability.
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Hussein, as current Arab League summit president, called for the emergency meeting to be held alongside next week's Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Istanbul.
Hussein stated that the aim of the meeting is to coordinate Arab positions in light of the rapid developments and to collectively and responsibly face current challenges. (end) ahh.ahm
