Lebanon welcomes UAE decision to lift travel ban

BEIRUT, May 4 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed the UAE's decision to lift the travel ban of Emirati citizens to Lebanon, Sunday.
The decision is evident of the deep relationship between both countries and a step that deserves thanks and appreciation to the UAE and its President Sheikh Mohammmd bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said Salam in a statement.
The ministry stressed the importance of the decision, which was issued following Lebanese President Joseph Aoun's visit to the UAE last week.
It also expressed its aspiration towards strengthening relations with all Arab countries due to the historical ties between them and Lebanon.
The decision to lift the ban will be implemented as of May 7. (end) fz.sas
