UAE lifts Lebanon travel ban Wed. - news agency
ABU DHABI, May 4 (KUNA) -- United Arab Emirates (UAE) nationals will be permitted to travel to Lebanon as of May 7, the state news agency reported on Sunday, lifting a three-year ban that had been in place on security grounds.
The measure, as per the "directives" of President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, follows a state visit by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to the UAE, which paved the way to "reinstate travel for citizens after taking necessary procedures and mechanisms to ease movement between the two nations," WAM quoted a foreign ministry statement.
The statement went on to underline that registration on a ministry-run online platform called "Twajudi" was a pre-requisite for travel to Lebanon, urging nationals to complete their registration there prior to departure.
Following these procedures is vital to ensure the "safety and well-being" of UAE nationals abroad, it added. (end) skm.nam
