According to a press release by Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in Bajaur tribal district on reported presence of militants.
During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the militants' location and after an intense fire exchange, three militants, including a high value target Fareed Ullah were killed.
ISPR further said that another intelligence-based operation was conducted in the general area Dossali of North Waziristan tribal district.
In the ensuing fire exchange, two militants were effectively neutralized by the security forces, the military confirmed.
The security forces successfully busted a militant hideout and apprehended two militants including high value target Lal Ameer Ibrahim in the third encounter that took place in Mohmand district.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from these militants, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities. Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other militant found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, ISPR concluded.
The operation comes days after Pakistan military carried out successful engagements in North Waziristan tribal district along the Pak-Afghan border where 71 militants were killed in three days anti-inflation operation.
The security operation coincides with a rise in terror attacks across Pakistan, especially in KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan. (end) sbk.ibi
