GAZA, April 19 (KUNA) -- At least 92 Palestinians were killed and 219 others were injured in the Gaza Strip over the last 48 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation genocide in the region, said medical sources.
According to the Palestinian News and Information Agenyc (WAFA), Local health authorities revealed that the Palestinian death toll since October 2023 has risen to 51,157 fatalities, with an additional 116,724 individuals sustaining injuries.
The majority of the victims are women and children.
The same sources indicated that the death toll -- since the Israeli occupation resumed the genocide on March 18 after a two-month truce -- has also climbed to 1,783, in addition to 4,683 others injured.
Emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the health authorities.
Israel's genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. (end)
