KUWAIT, March 23 (KUNA) - Kuwait's Coast Guard police forces have foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of illegal drugs into the country through the territorial water, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement Sunday.
It pointed out that three Iranian drug smugglers were arrested in the operation.
The seized drugs are: 125 kilograms of hashish, nine hashish sticks, eight Lyrica strips, and five bags of pills, the Ministry said, estimating its market value at nearly half a million Kuwaiti dinars.
The arrestees and the seized items were referred to the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal action against them, it concluded. (end)
