RAMALLAH, March 20 (KUNA) -- At least 85 Palestinians have been martyred and 133 others injured by Israeli occupation forces' airstrikes and attacks in the Gaza Strip, health authorities said on Thursday.
The authorities stated in a press release that several victims remain trapped under the rubble, and efforts are currently underway to recover them.
With this latest toll, the total number of martyrs since the resumption of Israeli aggression on Tuesday has reached 506, while the number of injured has increased to 909.
Earlier, Israeli forces launched a limited ground operation in central and southern Gaza, claiming it was part of an effort to expand the "defensive zone" between the northern and southern areas of the enclave.
This escalation comes after a ceasefire agreement and a prisoner exchange were reached approximately two months ago. The resumption of hostilities has resulted in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of Palestinians. (end)
