ALGIERS, March 16 (KUNA) -- The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) welcomed on Sunday the UN committee's report on investigating Israeli practices affecting human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
A statement issued by the AIPU Speaker and Algerian Parliament Speaker Ibrahim Boughali also called for an international move to end impunity, which encouraged Israeli occupation to continue its crimes.
The report documented crimes committed systematically against humanity by Israeli occupation forces, revealing Israeli's involvement in genocide in Gaza and the West Bank.
It called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, and take urgent measures to back Palestinians' self-determination, in line with international law principles.
It also called for taking an urgent step to end Israeli occupation forces and hold their Israeli leaders accountable as war criminals as well as lift the unfair siege on the Gaza Strip to end Palestinians' sufferings, according to the statement. (end)
