OIC welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan peace deal

JEDDAH, March 15 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Saturday welcomed the conclusion of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan about a peace treaty and bilateral relations.
In a press release, the OIC commended the deal as contributing to promoting the foundations of security and stability in the South Caucus, a thing that proves the effective peaceful means of resolving world conflicts.
The Jeddah-based Islamic bloc reiterated utter support for dialogue between both countries in the context of normalizing their relations.
Armenian and Azerbaijani had agreed on the text of a peace agreement to end nearly four decades of conflict between the South Caucasus countries. (end) fn.mt
