PARIS, March 7 (KUNA) -- The National French Railway Company (SNCF) announced on Friday the discovery of a World War II bomb at the Gare du Nord station, and train traffic that disrupted travel for thousands of commuters.
In a statement to the (BFM) news network, SNCF confirmed the discovery saying, "an unexploded bomb from the Second World War was discovered near the tracks".
All Eurostar trains to London have been halted following the bomb's discovery in Paris, as reported by media.
The railway company confirmed that the traffic stop was ordered "at the request of the Paris Police Prefecture" after the bomb was discovered in Saint-Denis, 2.5 kilometers from the station, in the middle of the tracks, explaining that "no train can pass through the area".(end)
