ALGIERS, Dec 7 (KUNA) -- Burkina Faso's caretaker president Captain Ibrahim Traore on Saturday sacked his Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambela and dissolved his government.
The removal of the prime minister and his cabinet was declared in a presidential decree signed on Friday, according to local media reports.
However, the sudden decree did not specify why the head of government was given the axe, but stated that members of the sacked government will continue to serve until a new cabinet is named, the reports said.
Tambela, a civilian, was appointed prime minister in 2022, shortly after Ibrahim Traore seized power in a coup. Burkina Faso saw a couple of military coupes in 2022. (end)
