RABAT, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday wrapped up a three-day state visit to Morocco during which the two countries signed a number of agreements in diverse fields, valued at more than USD ten billion.
Macron arrived in the country on Monday and held talks with the Moroccan King VI, capped with signing a declaration on establishing "an extraordinary and solid partnership" between Rabat and Paris.
The two leaders oversaw the signing of up to 22 agreements, worth more than USD ten billion, covering investments in railways, energy, green hydrogen, aviation industry, education and immigration.
The French president, during the visit, addressed the Moroccan parliament renewing Paris' support for Morocco's sovereignty over the desert, promising to promote this cause at international quarters and pledging investments in the region.
Macron's visit marked considerable rapprochement between the countries, three years after the ties had turned sour.
Rabat sets states' stand toward the desert issue as a basis for the level of relations. (end)
