KUWAIT, Oct 28 (KUNA) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya and Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov held talks on Monday during an official visit of the Kuwaiti top diplomat to Moscow.
A statement by Kuwait's Foreign Ministry said the two sides discussed latest regional and international developments, foremost being the escalating situations in Palestine and Lebanon; seeking ways to cease hostilities and allowing safe passage of aid to those in need.
They also discussed the "impacts" of the controversial decision by the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court on the Khor Abdullah Agreement, as well as completing the demarcation of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi maritime border beyond mark No. 162.
They similarly discussed means to resolving the Kuwaiti-Iranian marine borders' dossier.
Moreover, the two sides touched on the Syrian crisis and the international efforts to find a political solution that ends the suffering of the Syrian people.
Al-Yahya conveyed greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as well wishes of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people to the Russian Federation and its friendly people, praising historical relations and strong strategic partnership between the two countries.
For his part, Lavrov conveyed his greetings and well wishes to the Kuwaiti leadership, government and friendly people, praising deep-rooted bilateral ties.
Other issues discussed included ways of strengthening bilateral relations to push development and growth further, as well as mutual goals the two countries wish to achieve, concluded the statement. (end)
