KUWAIT, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) on Wednesday participated in the 40th annual petroleum conference of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC 24) held in Singapore, during which the participants broached various topics in the sector.
The KPC said in a statement the conference that grouped more than 150 experts of the international energy market and the oil industry was attended by the corporation's Managing Director for International Marketing Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al-Sabah and his depUty, Walid Al-Mkhaizeem, in addition to personnel.
The statement quoted Sheikh Khaled as affirming the KPC's commitment to draw up strategies and ponder innovative solutions to cope with the challenges emanating from the energy transformation and its effects on the oil markets.
He noted Asian markets' thirst energy to attain growth and economic prosperity, indicating that the KPC should continue to secure safe oil supplies to many countries.
Earlier today, the KPC held its annual reception -- under the aegis of its regional bureau -- in Singapore. The event drew more than 1,000 invitees and KPC partners, namely oil companies in Asia and other parts of the globe.
Sheikh Khaled affirmed that the holding of the reception mirrored the corporation's strong keenness on expanding cooperation with its clients. He also indicated that it was an opportunity to exchange opinions on major challenges facing the oil and gas industries. (end)
