KUWAIT, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait International Airport new T2 passengers terminal is seen as one of the country's mega developmental projects, said His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Tuesday.
His Highness's aforementioned remark came during the Cabinet's weekly meeting at the premise of the new project earlier today, as Minister of Information and Culture Abdurrahman Al-Mutairi said, according to a Diwan statement, that His Highness the Premier; after inspecting the terminal's site, directed concerned government bodies to cooperate with the Ministry of Public Works in order to overcome all obstacles that might face execution of the project, as well as stressing the significance of speeding up work pace to meet the operation deadline.
In this vein, Minister of Public Works Dr. Nora Al-Mashaan displayed a visual presentation on latest developments in the project, pointing out the T2 is considered a modern and state-of-the-art "smart" project that would contribute to the civil aviation sector; one of the government's top priorities. Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) chief Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also showed a visual presentation on the project. His Highness the Prime Minister commended the "team spirit" of all who are involved in the "qualitative leap" that is the project, said Al-Mutairi, who is also Minister of State for Youth Affairs. 

On the T2 terminal, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah also thanked the concerned government bodies for their relentless efforts to complete this vital project within the set timeframe.
He appreciated Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashan and President of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Sheikh Hmoud Mubarak Hmoud Al-Sabah as well as all workers at the site for their hard work and dedication.
First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousuf Saud Al-Sabah briefed the cabinet meeting on the outcomes of his visit to the United Arab Emirate last week.
The visit, which fell in the framework of the distinguished relations with the sisterly UAE, aimed to push to a new height the fruitful cooperation in all areas and realize the aspirations of both nations for development and prosperity.
Sheikh Fahad elaborated on his meetings with UAE President Mohammad bin Zayed and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed.
The cabinet commended the results of Sheikh Fahad's visit which gave momentum to the bilateral relation and the cooperation among the GCC member countries.
Regarding Act 153 (2024), issued on Sunday to accept the resignation minister of oil Dr. Emad Al-Ateeqi, the cabinet appreciated the efforts made by the outgoing minister during his tenure, wishing him everlasting wellbeing.
The cabinet reviewed and approved the recent recommendations of the ministerial committee on legal affairs regarding a number of draft legislations and agreements between Kuwait and several friendly countries.
These include; First, a draft bill to amend Act 10 (2020) endorsing online authentication without need of attendance in person at the Ministry of Justice.
Second, a draft bill to amend some provisions of the Penal Code 17 (1960) extending the deadline of appeal against verdicts to 30 days and allowing use modern means of communication to order defendants to appear before courts of law.
Third, a draft bill on a memorandum of understanding between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on cooperation to protect, conserve and rehabilitate environment.
The cabinet decided to refer the draft legislations and agreements to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for final endorsement.
The cabinet congratulated Faisal Sorour on winning the gold medal of the Men's Shot Put - F63 in Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
The cabinet endorsed the minutes of the higher committee on Kuwaiti citizenship, which included cases of withdrawal of citizenship from some persons who obtained it in fraudulent ways. The withdrawals were made in keeping with the provisions of Act 15 (1959) and the subsequent amendments. (Pickup previous) amh.gb
