WIPO honors Kuwaiti inventor Aboerjaib

VIENNA, July 12 (KUNA) -- Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Daren Tang honored the Kuwaiti visionary inventor Sarah Aboerjaib, whose ScansX won the 2024 WIPO health award.
At a celebration, held in Geneva on Friday on the fringes of the 65th WIPO Assemblies, Tang presented the WIPO awards to nine winners of this year awards, including Eng. Aboerjaib.
Congratulating the winners, he reaffirmed WIPO's support for them to optimize the IP commercialization system and expand market access for their innovations.
Twenty-five of the 667 inventors, who vied for the 2024 WIPO Awards from 107 countries, had been shortlisted and nine of them were proclaimed winners.
The function gathered representatives of WIPO member states and several ambassadors, including Kuwait Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen, according to a statement from Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
Ambassador Al-Hayed congratulated Eng. Aboerjaib for being the first Arab inventor to win the celebrated award since its launching in 2022.
Aboerjaib's ScansX, founded in 2023, stands at the cutting edge of brain injury diagnosis and medical technology innovation. Its mission is to transform and enhance diagnostic procedures through our state-of-the-art technology, making them safer, more efficient, and more accessible.
ScansX is dedicated team with expertise aiming to drive forward pioneering vision and revolutionize medical diagnostics in the Middle East and globally.
The other eight winners are AETECH - Climate tech - Republic of Korea; Farmer Lifeline Technologies - Climate tech - Kenya; Solar; Healinno Tech - Health - China; Laboratorios Qu?mica Luar - Health - Argentina; Meticuly - Health - Thailand; PONS Teknoloji - Health - Turkiye; Qnami - Advanced Technology - Switzerland; and Vivo Surgical - Health - Singapore.
