Egypt Pres.: Israeli occupation aggression on Gaza must stop

CAIRO, June, 10 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi stressed on Monday the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation war on the Gaza Strip and preventing the conflict from expanding.
The Egyptian president made the call during a meeting with visiting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, a statement by the Egyptian presidency said.
The Egyptian president called for removing all obstacles impeding the delivery of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, a statement by the Egyptian presidency said.
Al-Sisi also urged making concrete progress towards implementing a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Blinken and President Al-Sisi discussed the proposal for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza that would secure the release of all prisoners, with the secretary thanking President Al-Sisi for mediation efforts.
He underscored that the proposal would alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and increasing humanitarian assistance.
For his part, the secretary reaffirmed the United States' rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
Blinken said that this is his eighth visit to the region since October 7th which triggered the bloodiest episode in the decades-long Israeli occupation-Palestinian conflict.
He added that the plan on the table is the best way to get to a ceasefire, release the remaining prisoners and improve regional security.
