CAIRO, June 9 (KUNA) -- After tribal clashes restarted Saturday in areas of Galgadud, central of Somalia leaving dozens dead and wounded, Somalia announced Sunday that they were forming a committee to find an immediate solution.
The Somali National News Agency (SONNA) said that the purpose of the committee -- which consisted of five ministers appointed by president of Galmudug State, Ahmad Abdi -- was to go to conflict areas in the cities of (Abu Dawaq and Harali) in the north of the state to end the bloody fighting there.
The Ministries of Interior and Internal Security issued an urgent statement regarding the renewed tribal fighting, calling on all parties to immediately stop the bloody fighting.
The numbers of dead and wounded were inconclusive, with Somali media reporting that at least eight people were killed and ten others injured, while foreign media reported that about 45 people were killed and 60 others were injured. (end)
