Abbas calls for urgent UNSG session on Al-Nusairat slaughter that has claimed 210 lives

RAMALLAH, June 8 (KUNA) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday called for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to discuss the Israeli occupation bloody massacre at al-Nusairat camp where hundreds of martyrs have fallen.
The official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, said the president asked the permanent representative of the State of Palestine with the UN to request the UNSG extraordinary session, adding that he was contacting Arab and international parties in this respect.
Abbas has called for the special session to address the council's role in halting the continuing Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people to coerce the state of occupation abide by UN resolutions that call for an immediate cease-fire, Wafa said.
The international community must intervene urgently to stop the plight of the Palestinian people because the occupation is exploiting the world silence and the American support to pursue its crimes that violate resolutions of the international legitimacy and the international laws, Wafa quoted president Abbas as saying.
Meanwhile, Palestinian medical sources declared that the toll of the occupation massacre at the ramshackle down, the al-Nusairat camp, climbed to 210 deaths and more than 400 wounded.
Heavily armed occupation forces have hammered the shantytown with a hail of big caliber shells and rockets, causing the heavy losses in souls and properties. (end) nq.rk
