Bahrain hosts 1st Int'l Space Forum in Mideast next July
MANAMA, June 3 (KUNA) -- The Bahraini National Space Science Agency (NSSA) announced hosting the sixth edition of the International Space Forum in cooperation with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and International Astronautical Federation (IAF) on Monday. In a press statement, NSSA Chief Dr. Mohammad Al-Asiri said the International Space Forum, titled "Space as a Change Agency in Diplomacy and Economic Development in the Middle East and North African Region," would be the first of its kind in the region, coinciding with the national space policy strategic vision of 2024-2028.
The Forum, Al-Asiri added, would underscore the progress and development in the Arab region generally, and the Arab Gulf specifically, presenting topics by experts in the fields related to Earth observation, space exploration, visions, and policies.
The Forum would highlight the visions and policies regarding space in support of diplomacy and economic development regionally and globally, he explained. The NSSA joined the IAF in 2021, marking its entry to the world of space exploration and specialization.
The two-day event will take place during the first week of July in Bahrain. (end) kne.za
