BEIRUT, April 25 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese House of Parliament on Thursday passed a proposal to extend the term of the country's current municipal and mayoral councils until May 31, 2025.
This came during a general parliament session presided over by House Speaker Nabih Berri to look into several urgent draft laws.
The move came against the backdrop of the ongoing security situation amid military confrontations in south Lebanon.
The Lebanese parliament had approved the extension of municipal and mayoral councils in 2022 and 2023. (end)
