RIYADH, April 25 (KUNA) -- Riyadh is set to host the Saudi-UK "GREAT FUTURES" launch event on May 14-15, with a year-long program of trade, tourism, education, and cultural activities.
The event is mainly meant to build Saudi-UK partnerships in both public and private sectors in economic and developmental domains that promote the kingdom's 2030 development vision, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
It will bring to life the fantastic opportunities for UK businesses in Saudi Arabia and demonstrate the solutions available when our two countries work together.
British Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden will lead the 350-strong contingent of British delegation that will showcase the best of UK innovation and excellence, reported the agency.
The two-day flagship event, which will be held in Riyadh's King Abdullah Financial District, will host about 750 representatives.
It is part of the efforts of the Saudi-British Strategic Partnership Council aimed at strengthening economic relations between the two sides in several promising sectors, in addition to developing bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
Dowden was quoted by the Saudi news agency as describing the initiative as an important opportunity to forge partnerships for the future between the UK's most creative and innovative companies and their Saudi business and government counterparts.
British Minister of Commerce Majed Al-Qasabi said this major event heralds the beginning of an extended and productive partnership focused on innovation, technology, and flourishing cultural sectors.
The event is considered one of the important events at the global level with the participation of the most creative and innovative companies in the United Kingdom. (end) kns.mt
