Egypt, Serbia leaders underline regional stability endeavors

CAIRO, April 17 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic stressed Wednesday that it is essential to exert all efforts to defuse regional tensions and ensure regional stability.
This came in a telephone contact between both leaders, which focused on the latest regional and international developments, particularly in the Middle East region, Egypt's Presidential Spokesman Ahmad Fahmi said in a press statement.
The Egyptian president underlined the significance of exerting international efforts to implement an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, deliver relief aid to the enclave and protect its population from famine, he said.
He, further, warned that the continued military escalation and conflict spillover would put the entire region's security and stability in jeopardy, according to the spokesman.
Furthermore, both leaders explored the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its global impacts, and agreed to keep consultation and coordination in this regard. (end) aff.mt
