NCCAL publications attract Cairo Int'l Book Fair visitors

CAIRO, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Publications of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) have a long history of attracting interest of Arab visitors, an official said on Saturday.
This came in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) by Saad Al-Enezi, Director of NCCAL's book fairs department and Kuwait International Book Fair during his participation in 55th session of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIF).
He said that CIF is one of the oldest and largest cultural forums in the Arab world, noting that it is an important platform where Arab and Gulf cultures meet.
About NCCAL participation in CIF, Al-Enezi said that the council offered publications of "Al-Arabi Magazine", "Alam Al-Fikr" (World of Intellect), "Ebda'at Alamia" (World Creativities), "Al-Thaqafa Al-Alamia" (World Culture), "Al-Athar Books" (Antiquities Books), NCCAL special editions, and books by Kuwaiti authors.
He pointed out that demand on book sales reflects the interest of the visitor and reader in learning about Kuwait culture, especially NCCAL publications.
The Cairo International Book Fair kicked off last January 25 under the slogan "we create knowledge, we preserve the word" and to continue until February 6 with the participation of 1200 publishing houses from 70 countries.
Kuwait pavilions included Ministry of Information, NCCAL, the Kuwaiti Research and Studies Center (CRSK), the Foundation for Scientific Advancement (KFAS) and other publishing houses. (end) aff.ao
