KUWAIT, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Cabinet held its weekly meeting at Seif Palace on Monday, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, highlighted its recent committee coordination meeting between the executive, legislative branches.
After the meeting, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Feras Saud Al-Sabah said the following: During the meeting, the ministers reviewed a recently held coordination committee meeting between the government and parliament in the National Assembly.
The committee meeting was attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Saadoun, His Highness the Premier Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, and a number of ministers and member of parliaments (MPs).
The Premier confirmed that there is almost a parliamentary government consensus on what should be done during the next period, noting that the government is currently preparing its agenda which would be presented to the National Assembly, expressing the government's aspirations that such program will satisfy the Kuwaiti people and achieve their ambitions.
Sheikh Feras added that the Prime Minister affirmed during the cabinet meeting on the government's keenness to enhance cooperation, coordination and fruitful work between the executive and legislative branches.
In compliance with the provisions of Article 98 of the Constitution, the government shall submit its work program immediately after its formation.
The cabinet also reviewed a visual presentation submitted by the ministerial committee charged with following up on the government's agenda and work.
The Council of Ministers decided to assign the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development to prepare a draft of the government's program in preparation for referring it to the National Assembly. (end) jy.mb
