GCC Secretary-General praises European efforts to enhance peace in African Sahel

RIYADH, June 7 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Gulf States Jasem Al-Budaiwi praised Wednesday the role played by the European Union and international partners in enhancing opportunities for peace and security in the Sahel region of Africa.
This came during a meeting between the Al-Budaiwi and the EU representative for the African Sahel region Emanuela Claudia Delery at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh, the Secretariat said in a statement.
According to the Statement, Al-Budaiwi stressed the importance of the partnership between the GCC Council and the European Union in many fields, including unifying views on international issues, finding, and advancing solutions. (end) kns.nhq
