OIC condemns Israeli killing of Palestinian toddler Al-Tamimi

RIYADH, June 6 (KUNA) -- The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Tuesday the continuing crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces, the latest of which was the heinous crime that claimed the life of the two-year-old Palestinian child, Mohammed Al-Tamimi, who was shot in the head.
In statement, the OIC said that it considers this crime as one in a series of continued Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, including children, with no less than 28 children having been martyred at the hands of the Israeli occupation since the beginning of this year.
The OIC calls for conducting an independent international investigation into this crime, and working to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for all its violations that amount to war crimes, to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and to enforce the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
Al-Tamimi was shot by Israeli soldiers last week succumbed to his injuries and died on Monday, June 5.
Al-Tamimi was with his parents in a car when Israeli soldiers were carrying out a raid in his village and started firing in the direction of the stationary car parked near the entrance of the village, according to eyewitness reports. (end) kns.mb
