NATO Chief: Ukraine war "will change the world"

BRUSSELS, May 30 (KUNA) - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg Tuesday stated the war in Ukraine will change the world and determine the future of the globe for decades.
"President Putin's war of aggression against Ukraine marks the end of the world as we knew it," he told an event co-organized by the Norwegian Atlantic Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, according to a NATO statement.
"What we choose to do and choose not to do now will determine what the world will look like for decades to come. This new reality has sunk in for most people," he stressed.
"Wars are unpredictable. We do not know when and how this war will end. But what we do know is that when it ends, we must ensure that history does not repeat itself," said the NATO chief.
He said that when NATO's leaders gather in Vilnius, Lithuania min July, "the message will be that we will stand by Ukraine, for as long as it takes." China's rise will be another important issue for discussion in the NATO summit. "China's growing military, economic and political importance affects most of what NATO does. And not least, we see that China is cooperating more closely with Russia," he added.
