Turkiye's 2nd round of presidential elections kicks off

ANKARA, May 28 (KUNA) -- Voting of the second round of the presidential elections kicked off on Sunday starting 8:00 am until 5:00 pm local time.
More than 60 million Turkish citizens will cast their votes in 191,000 ballot boxes in order to elect a new president for the next five years. The candidates are the current president Recep Erdogan from the People's Alliance and Kemal Kilicdaroglu from the Nation's Alliance.
On May 14, Erdogan won 49.52 percent of the votes, Kilicdaroglu with 44.88 percent and Sinan Ogan 5.17 percent, which resulted into a second round as none of the candidates exceeded 50 percent. (end).
